Bernard first served on Immaculate’s Board of Directors in 2007 then, after a short break, returned to board again in 2017. He chaired the Development Committee and also served on the Finance Committee for several years.
Bernie is a Managing Director and the National Endowment and Foundation Executive at Bank of America, Private Bank. He is responsible for delineating the firm’s overall sales strategy and outreach to institutional and charitable organizations throughout the United States. He provides strategic direction to advisors and specialists nationwide, aligning the bank’s investment offerings and philanthropic services with the unique needs of educational endowments, arts and cultural institutions, healthcare and faith-based organizations, as well as foundations. Closely attuned to challenges and opportunities that nonprofits face, Bernie leads dynamic engagement with client priorities. He facilitates the transmission of best practices across the wider enterprise to enhance the delivery of discretionary investment management, long-term organizational strategy and a robust suite of administrative services.
Bernie has more than 30 years of experience catering to the financial and organizational needs of nonprofits. Prior to joining Bank of America, he served as Head of Endowment and Foundation Sales and later was named Co-Head of Institutional Sales at Commonfund. He serves as a Trustee of the New York St. Patrick’s Day Foundation and the Foundations in Education for the Diocese of Bridgeport. Bernie was also a former member of the advisory board for St. Rose of Lima School. He resides in Sandy Hook, CT with his wife Maureen and their children, Siobhan ’21 and Seamus ’23.
ANTHONY F. GIOBBI
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD RECIPIENT
Tony has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Immaculate High School since 2016, where he is Chair of the Development Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.
Tony is the Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer of Newtown Savings Bank which he joined in 2014. He has over 40 years of experience in banking and finance. He began his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York City in 1983 and has served in senior leadership roles with a major European bank in New York City, as well as an asset-based lending hedge fund focused on alternative credit strategies.
In addition to his service to Immaculate High School, Tony currently serves on the boards Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, where he is Board Chair, The Catholic Academy of Stamford where is treasurer, and the Western Connecticut State University Foundation, where he is Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. He has served previously as Chair of the Finance Council of St. Mary Parish in Ridgefield and was involved in the startup of the St. Joseph Parenting Center where he served board member and treasurer. Tony is also Knight in the Order of Malta.
Tony earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. He and his wife Barbara live in Ridgefield and have two children, Alexander and Analise.
