JO-ANNE (TOMANIO) PRICE '66

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT

Jo-Anne (Tomanio) Price '66 is the recipient of the Immaculate High School 2023 Distinguished Service Award.  Jo-Anne is a member of the first class enrolled at Immaculate High School.  Immediately following her 1966 high school graduation, she was hired as one of the youngest employees of United Airlines and worked in retail and wholesale sales ending her career with Chicago based Kuoni Travel in 1973.  Jo-Anne returned to Connecticut and married her beloved Louis Price, becoming co-owner of the Price family business, the Ridgefield Supply Company, in 1975.  In 2005, they created and opened a manufacturing company, KLEER Lumber, located in Springfield, Massachuesetts.

Both Jo-Anne and Louis are known for taking exceptional care of their employees and for their philanthropic giving to numerous charities located in the Ridgefield and Danbury communities.  In 2014, Jo-Anne lost the love of her life and was determined to continue to provide for others which included becoming an active volunteer at Immaculate.  Jo-Anne led the way with creating alumni planning committees for the school's 50th Anniversary and encouraged alumni to support her efforts in refurbishing the school's Monsignor John Hossan Chapel.  Thanks to Jo-Anne's energetic commitment, the 50th Anniversary was a tremendous success and major alumni contributions for the Chapel were made, including a set of beautiful stained glass windows dedicated to Jo-Anne's family.  Jo-Anne is a highly respected member of the school's Board of Directors Alumni Committee and its Capital Campaign Steering Committee where she has been involved with raising funds needed to implement the Board of Directors' capital building and endowment plans.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals who aid and support Immaculate High School and its young men and women.  Recipients have served in or around the school community and have directly aided students in striving to be the best they can be - both in and out of school.
